WHO

We believe in Change not Charity

We are a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles, CA. Woring to empower at-risk children in Kenya. In partnership with children’s centers we develop and fund community-based sustainable and income-generating initiatives. Our initiatives transform the quality of care, educational opportunities and foundational support that at-risk children receive as well as elevating their sorrounding communities.

WHAT

Mission

Our mission is to empower at-risk “orphaned” children to thrive. We believe every child, no matter their background, deserves basic things like food, clean water access to education and the opportunity to make something good of their life.

HOW

Our Model

Our model develops, manages and funds sustainable initiatives with our Children’s Center partners, that achieve long term results in providing the children in their care with a better quality of life. Critical needs such as food security, access to clean water, health care, social services,  and education. Sustainable initiatives such as greenhouses, poultry farms, and renewable energy installations generate income or eliminate expenses. The projects are a collaborative effort between our partners and empower local communities by reducing dependence on foreign aid while committing to a model of transparency.

WHY

The Issues

Issues such as poverty, HIV/AIDS, repressive cultural norms, and even war and displacement are real problems that separate children from their families. In developing countries like Kenya, a high percentage of the population are considered at-risk children who do not have social welfare programs. Many families in need, seek support from orphanages, shelters, schools, and other community centers to provide necessities such as food, healthcare, and access to education. Orphanages and children’s homes are often used by parents in urgent need who don’t know where else to turn – 90% of children living in orphanages have at least one living parent. We are working in conjunction with private and government institutions to change the way in which at-risk children and their families are given the support they need.
