Throw Back: HHK Friendship

#TBT to the Hogar de Amor Home in Honduras! We loved visiting with the kids here and seeing the very special friendships that exist! Like kids everywhere, these girls love playing and spending time with their friends. We’re proud to continue to work with this home with our tilapia farm, which makes sure they get protein in their diets!

TBT with Fiwagoh Home

#TBT to a year ago and one of our homes in Kenya: The Fiwagoh Home! In the past year, we have partnered with this home to build 6 greenhouses on the home’s property! The produce grown is sold in local markets. Those profits are then allocated towards the hiring of 2 additional caretakers! And by growing fresh veggies for the kids, the home has already saves over $10,000 in food costs annually! We’re starting a similar project at St. Catherine’s Home in Kenya, where the profits will go towards the children’s education! https://www.kitechild.org/projects/st-catherines-children-home-greenhouse/

TBT St. Catherine’s Home

A #tbt to the St. Catherine’s home in Kenya and our successful Clean Water Access project. You can see them working the filter, which provided clean drinking water to the children at the home! We’re so excited to be partnering with them again with a greenhouse that will be targeting the nutrition and education of the kids! We will have a matching donor, who will match all donations up to $10,000! Let’s make this happen for #everychild!

TBT in Honduras

Here’s an uplifting #tbt for you! We loved visiting our friends at the Hogar de Amor Home in Honduras a few years ago. The kids that live at the home are just like kids everywhere- they love to play, laugh and enjoy life with their friends. We’ve since continued to work with them with our aquaponics project, which has helped improve their nutrition and saved the home money, which is invested back in the kids! #tbt #throwback #honduras #children #kids #smile #uplifting #laughter #play #jumprope #skills #joy #fullheart #bepresent #livejoyfully #happiness #presence #jumpforjoy #aquaponics

A happy #tbt with our friends from Kenya! We visited the Watoto Wema home in 2012 and can’t wait to go back! It’s amazing what’s happened in 3 years: a greenhouse, a chicken farm and a clean water project. We’ve been grateful to work with this home and the 57 children who live there. Together, this partnership has improved the health, nutrition and wellbeing of these children and we know it’ll only keep getting better!

A #tbt to the success of our Clean Water Access project in Kenya. These boys at the Havilla Home were among the hundreds of children who gained necessary access to clean water through this project. In this area of the world, water must be paid for from the city and the surrounding wells house water that is not safe for consumption. Like so many people around the world in these situations, precious resources and time is then used treating water through boiling or chemical use. Now, these kids get to have something that we take for granted everyday: life-sustaining water.

A #tbt from our 2013 trip to Honduras where we met so many amazing children during our time there! We set up an aquaponics tilapia farm at the Hogar de Amor home, which has since grown hundreds of fish for the children. This sustainable micro-project saves the home money that was spent on purchasing produce and fish for the kids. Now, that money goes towards paying a security guard, a necessary requirement for safety in this volatile area.
